The Silverback
A safari guide tracks wild gorillas, and connects the lessons of the forest to his own journey.

We're good at naming groups of animals — a dazzle of zebra, a gaggle of geese, a skulk of foxes. It's no surprise we call a group of gorillas a family. We share ninety-eight percent of our DNA with them, and can't help but see something beautifully human in them.
That primal pull is especially powerful for African safari guide Richard De Gouveia, whose path to becoming an expedition leader was shaped by tragedy.
The Silverback follows Richard as he tracks wild gorillas and carries the lessons of the forest home — striving to be a loving, present father and partner while guiding others to some of nature's most extraordinary wildlife.
